I’d been a bit disappointed by The Curse of the Old Woods, the first book in the series, because I loved the idea of lesbian paranormal detectives but felt the execution was not as good as it could have been. I’m happy to say that while that first book was okay, the second one is much better. The writing has improved, it’s very well paced, the story is more complex, everything just flows better.
I’m looking forward to finding out more about the characters in the next books, as each member of the team has potential to be a main character. I’m not advocating for the focus to change, I love that the MCs are lesbians, but I find the secondary characters interesting too in their own right.
And I have to say, I really love the covers!
