I so hope there’s a sequel to this. First of all because I really enjoyed it. I went in not knowing what to expect, since it’s a debut novel, with not too many reviews yet, and it was definitely worth it. The second reason I’m hoping there’s a sequel is the ending, which took me completely by surprise, though, in retrospect, it shouldn’t have. I’d love to find out what happens next.
Drinking the Ocean is a really well-written YA novel about friendship, families, finding yourself and other existential questions teenagers, queer or otherwise, deal with.
I’m really looking forward to what this author writes next.
