Deep Sea Seduction (My Monster Girlfriend) by Naomi Piper

On a darkish flowery background, an iPad with the cover of Deep Sea Seduction by Naomi Piper.

Deep Sea Seduction is a spinoff of And By the Sea She Came to Me (I still love this title so much…), in which Echo’s sister Petra, also a tentacle mermaid, gets distracted from her mission when she stumbles upon the woman she had her—hunting—sights on doing unexpected things with another woman.

It took me almost as long to write this review as to read the novella because almost everything I came up with sounded like a pun. Or something that would have my wife and me—or my BFF and me—look at each other and burst out laughing. Because Naomi Piper’s books are exactly what she says they are, 95% smut, and silly puns are hard to resist.

Just because it’s smut, however, doesn’t mean it doesn’t deserve a proper review so here we go. I always look forward to Piper’s novellas. They’re fun, they’re hot—obviously—they’re well written, they’re surprising. It is monster porn after all, and there are so many possibilities with non-human creatures. A bit too many sometimes (I never reviewed The Beast of Her Dreams because it was too much for me and I couldn’t find the words) but when you’re in the mood for minimal plot and loads of heat, with a tongue-in-cheek kind of humour, Naomi Piper delivers.
