
This was a short and frustrating read. It could have been an interesting crime novel but it’s so short, everything feels rushed. As if the author had written the outline of the story and forgotten to flesh it out.
What makes it so frustrating is that I really liked Alex Brennan and the people surrounding her. I liked what we get to see of the relationship with her father and her cousin, and of her partnership with her teammate Milo. Let’s hope Hollis develops all that in further instalments…
