I’ve read L.A. Metro (the first in the series) twice and gave it 4* twice. When I began In a Heartbeat, I was a bit worried because Riley’s issues reminded me a little too much of Jess’. But it didn’t last, and I really enjoyed the chemistry between Riley and Sam, and everything around them. I really like how R. J. Nolan doesn’t shy away from complex and difficult topics.
