I’ve had a rough summer, dealing with health issue after health issue, after a year of more health issues. Nothing big and everything is mostly okay but it’s been a lot and I’ve been struggling with keeping up with my reading and reviewing. I’ve read and listened to many new stories I enjoyed, yet going back to something familiar felt really good too. I knew I could count on Rachel Lacey and Come Away With Me was exactly what I needed, the perfect feel-good audiobook.

I loved both MCs when I first read the book and I think I love them even more now that I’ve heard Lori Prince voice them. They’re both very good characters and I also love them together. I relate very much to Piper’s panic attacks (I didn’t write this in my original review but I have my own subway PTSD, or rather, my PTSD gets triggered—or used to get triggered—by the subway), which makes her special to me and at the same time, she’s a TV star on her way to become a Hollywood star, and our lives couldn’t be more different. So I get to at once escape with and relate to a character deeply.

And Chloe… I could fall for Chloe. She’s sweet and kind and fun, always ready for an adventure or a quiet evening with a puzzle. She’s there for the people she loves without being overprotective. And—this I wrote in my first review—her reaction to Piper telling her she loves her is the realest and the most adorable.

Lori Prince brings all the emotions and smiles, the love, the frustrations, and the happiness to life with her usual talent and gusto.

If you’re feeling blue and need warmth in your ears, or if you just want a pretty story and lovely characters, this is the audiobook for you. 4.5⭐️
